NBC's Parenthood has never won fans for its comedy but instead for how it accurately portrays the trials and tribulations of real lives and real families. Season 4 is turning out to be no different.
So far this season the Bravermans have faced countless new issues, both funny and otherwise. One family already lost a member when oldest brother, Adam Braverman, said a tearful goodbye as his eldest daughter, Haddie, went off to school on the East Coast. Soon after, Adam's wife, Christina, was diagnosed with breast cancer. Meanwhile, Julia and her husband Joel struggled with how to properly accept their adopted son, Victor, into their home. Crosby and Jasmine spent time trying to figure out how to explain religion and God to Jabbar while still trying to understand it themselves.
And then there's Sarah Braverman . While fighting to have her fiancé, Mark Cyr, included in the family picture, she lands a job with the curmudgeonly photographer. The photographer, Hank Rizzoli , may be surly, but she soon discovers the reasons for his unease around other humans, and even helps him reconnect with his daughter.

From Hank's incredibly sweet comments on Sarah's best qualities and her hesitant confirmation of her current relationship -- right down to the embrace in the darkroom -- everything spells more storms ahead for the Braverman sister who just can't seem to get things right. Mr. Cyr is adorable, but will Hank's complexity win Sarah's heart?
If the kiss doesn't set your heart pounding, Christina's tearful confession certainly will.
Adam and Christina have kept the secret of her upcoming lumpectomy for four episodes. Only Amber , Adam and Crosby's niece and secretary at The Luncheonette, knows a hint of what's happening at the eldest Braverman brother's home. All that is about to change, though, as Christina announces her ailments to the family. Glimpses of Haddie announce her return.
What else is in store for the lives of Zeek and Camille Braverman and their offspring? Only time will tell. One thing is for sure: the Bravermans are a family worth rooting for.
