While the series may have gotten off to a slow start, the reveal that Grant Ward (Brett Dalton) was a double agent and a traitor to the team that loved him gave the show a much-needed jolt of energy. The action ramped up, the stakes were raised and Ward and Skye's will-they-won't-they tension took a turn for the tragic instead of the predictable. After a season finale that left Coulson debating picking up the pieces of what was once S.H.I.E.L.D. and starting over from scratch, there are plenty of places for Lawless to fit in. Details on her role have yet to be revealed, though we're not sure if our hearts can take another HYDRA agent being added to the mix.

Marvel — not content to only dominate the field when it comes to awesome superhero movies — has been busy rolling out projects and expanding its television presence after the success of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. We don't only have the return of the former Xena to look forward to this fall; also coming up is the eight-episode short series Agent Carter, which follows the life of Peggy Carter after Captain America's presumed death in the 1940s, while production ramps up with Netflix's take on Daredevil, starring Charlie Cox and Deborah Ann Woll. We'll be geeking out all over the small screen this season. Great news for those of us who are already dying of anticipation for next summer's Avengers sequel.

Of course, our fingers are crossed that this will still leave Lawless with plenty of time to drop by Pawnee, Indiana. Her turn as middle-school principal Diane, mother of Ron Swanson's son and the second-greatest love of Ron's life after bacon, has been a welcome presence on Parks and Recreation for the last few seasons.
