Adam Levine and Christina Aguilera have had their spats during their time working together on The Voice. Adam could be a little, well, snarky, and Christina is certainly a diva. However, according to People, at a recent press conference the two were buddied up once again. Not only have they been getting along, but Adam also came to Christina's aid over the press's obsession with her fluctuating weight issues.
"The one thing about the culture right now, celebrity culture particularly, is people feel like they can just say nasty things about other people whether it's Christina or whether it's me," he explained. "She gets a lot and it pisses me off. Of course I have her back and of course I defend her."
Whoa.
Congratulations, Christina! Of all the people you could have in your corner, the tatted-up rock star from Maroon 5 would certainly be first choice for a lot of people.
Levine went on to say that Christina's body was no one's business. We couldn't agree more. Christina is showing girls around the globe that you don't have to be rail-thin to be hot or famous. America may be in the midst of a widespread epidemic of obesity, but Aguilera is far from concerned.
We agree that it's unacceptable to treat anyone as inferior, especially due to their weight. But why does it seem more acceptable for people to bully Aguilera while ignoring the larger judge onstage? It's incredibly shallow that people call attention to Christina's thighs while completely ignoring CeeLo Green. It seems pretty sexist. CeeLo is beautiful too, but his weight should cause concern. He is much more likely to suffer weight-related health issues than Christina
Though, as Adam said, "It's no one's business."
