Carrie Diaries recap

It was just another manic Monday for The Carrie Diaries this week.

Rebel with a cause

When her dad tells Carrie that she can't see the hottest boy in school, Sebastian, it almost becomes a personal challenge to find out why her dad is so apprehensive. The answer lies in his massive filing cabinet in the family's upstairs hallway. Locked inside a metal drawer is a file labeled "Kydd, Sebastian," and inside are the details of a case involving "intimate relations" between Sebastian and his Art History teacher at his old school. Eek, right?

Sort of. But we don't know the whole story, and who are we to judge? At least that's Carrie's logic when she decides to continue dating Sebastian anyway. They have one steamy kiss before Carrie leaps up and flees to the city for a night on the town.

Carrie Diaries recapGrowing up too fast?

She ends up at a performance art exhibit put on by a former porn star. The ex-porn star's way of "taking back power over her vagina" is to sit on a throne and offer quick look-sees for every penny someone puts in a jar. What? Even Carrie gets persuaded into popping a penny into the pot.

After a confrontation between Penny the porn star and Carrie, our favorite crazy haired blonde once again heads for the door. Penny told her to take charge of her life and that's exactly what she wants to do. She goes head-to-head with her dad about dating Sebastian, but when she spills that she read the file, she immediately knows she's said too much.

Who's gonna drive her home?

If it was too much for her father, it was even more catastrophic to her relationship with Sebastian. The next time they meet up to kiss, Carrie spills that she knows about his prior transgressions. Among other things that shock Sebastian was that he even had a lawyer. He had no idea of some of the things that had happened and been handled by his super-rich parents. At the end of the day, the fun-loving and easygoing bad boy just can't deal with a relationship with the over-thinking and constantly analyzing Carrie.

She doesn't appear heartbroken so much as surprised that for the second time in a couple days, her snooping lands her in trouble. If Sex and the City fans know anything, though, it's that Carrie's desire to dig for info never fades away.

In the end, at least she fixes things with her father and Dorrit while shopping for supplies for Morrissey, Dorrit's stolen hamster.
