The year 2016 may very well go down in history as one of the wildest and weirdest years in recent history. This sentiment is no less true for Kelly Ripa, whose year has been dominated by workplace drama but luckily, not totally consumed by it. When she wasn't busy making surprise guest appearances (read: making great shows even greater), she was test-driving different co-hosts for Live! and doing it in style. If anything, Ripa has shown us all that even when the unexpected happens, there's no reason to wallow in it. Instead, the best thing to do is brush yourself off and keep moving forward.
Ripa's indomitable spirit and trademark wit have also defined her year. It's interesting to note that while Ripa is not a frequent social media poster, when she does post, she makes sure it's a moment that counts. That's pretty indicative of how Ripa has remained strong during what would appear to have been an otherwise unsettled year for the daytime talk show host. She has chosen to highlight the positive and focus on the good times, which I think we can all agree is the best course of action when it seems like there's nothing but drama surrounding you.
Unexpected Live! drama
Kelly Ripa Addresses Strahan Controversy
Kelly Ripa Addresses Strahan Controversy
Perhaps the defining narrative in Ripa's public life was the drama surrounding Live! and co-host Michael Strahan's unexpected (and slightly messy) departure. After four years, Strahan announced he was leaving Live! in April 2016. The announcement reportedly blindsided Ripa and the production team behind Live!, all of whom had no clue that Strahan was departing for greener pastures over at Good Morning America.
Ripa was noticeably curt to Strahan in his final days as co-host and made headlines when she took a week off from Live! without notice. Ripa's public apology to her viewership was heartfelt and earnest. She expressed that she needed time to process the news.
Andy Cohen weighs in, Strahan return rumors begin
Image: Derrick Salters/WENN.com, WENN
At the time of the event, Ripa's close friend and, later, Live! co-host Andy Cohen noted Ripa's distress at not being told of Strahan's departure and cited their chemistry as one of the reasons the news was so shocking.
While she felt hurt that she wasn't immediately told of Strahan's departure, she was going to press onward and wished Strahan well in the transition process. There were recent rumors that Strahan was trying to return to Live!, although that should definitely be taken with a grain of salt. Strahan's made no public announcement as of yet.
Since April, Ripa has had a bevy of famous faces play co-host on Live!. Initially, many thought that this was simply an audition process, much like what had happened when Ripa's previous co-host Regis Philbin left and Strahan came aboard. It would appear that this is not the case, since Ripa is still co-hosting with a new guest each week. While there is no clear-cut consensus on whether Ripa will find a permanent co-host, it's been a ton of fun to see who sits in the chair next to Ripa each episode.
Notable co-hosts have included Alec Baldwin, Fred Savage, Carrie-Ann Inaba, Jim Parsons, Andy Cohen, and Ripa's best friend Anderson Cooper. Who knows what 2017 will hold for Ripa and the Live! team? But one thing's for certain: Ripa is ready to move on from the drama and keep the good times rolling. Can you blame her? I have my fingers crossed she keeps bringing on new co-hosts every week, if only because it proves that Ripa can get along with literally anyone and make great television at the same time.
Ripa kills it on Halloween, per usual
Image: Live! with Kelly
Proof that she can work with anyone and have literally a metric ton of fun was her iconic Halloween episode with co-host Jerry O'Connell. Ripa and O'Connell had a whale of a time dressing up as 2016's most recognizable and beloved characters. While O'Connell donned Negan's leather jacket and baseball bat, Ripa repped Lemonade with Beyoncé's trademark yellow dress and the "Hot Sauce" bat. She also did a hilarious impression of Donald Trump — orange visage and all — as well as Suicide Squad's Harley Quinn.
Ripa's family matters were major in 2016
Kelly and Mark Youtube
Kelly and Mark Youtube
When she wasn't busy rightfully ruling the roost at Live!, Ripa was documenting some major family milestones. Ripa's social media feeds were dominated by her family life this year, and it was so much fun to be able to share in Ripa's maternal joys. The most exciting milestone was definitely Ripa's 20-year anniversary with husband Mark Consuelos. For a celebrity marriage, 20 years is a ridiculously long time to stay married, but don't get it twisted: That's a good thing.
The duo has been delighting in one another's company for years and are arguably an example of a successful celebrity marriage. When Consuelos co-hosted Live! with Ripa in December 2016, the two were riffing off each other as they spoke to the audience about how they eloped. Now, two decades and three children later, the couple is just as lively and in love as they ever were — and it shows.
Ripa was also there to document birthdays, an adorable father-daughter moment as her middle child Lola accompanied Consuelos to the premiere of Nine Lives, and youngest son Joaquin's wrestling matches. I mean, honestly, could it get any cuter? And through all of it, Ripa remained focused on documenting the good times because those are the moments worth remembering.
2016 was definitely a wild year for Ripa. Who knows what awaits her in 2017?
And we'll have a Q&A with Talbot next week. Don't you worry about that. But in the meantime, let's talk about Episode 4.
Through our Talbot-induced tears, we watched BJ Smith pack up his knives and leave the Top Chef kitchen. Some fans were surprised — while others couldn't get over the Talbot boot.

So we asked Smith: Were you surprised by your elimination? What'd you think about Top Chef veterans returning to the show? Here's what he had to say.
BJ Smith: I was surprised by my elimination, especially after seeing the episode. The judges were a lot tougher on some of the other chefs.
SK: What was it like working with all the judges on the show? Who's the most intimidating?
BJS: It was great! I have a lot of respect for the judges we had on the show. Tom is by far the most intimidating.
SK: Which contestant do you think deserves to win? Or who are you rooting for?
BJS: I do not think anyone deserves to win more any anyone else.
SK: Who did you consider your biggest competition?
BJS: From the get-go, I was watching out for all of the veterans. They had a pretty clear advantage over the people who were on the show for the first time.
SK: Was there anyone on the show you really clashed with? Who was it and why?
BJS: No, we all got along really well.
SK: What's one thing that happened behind the scenes viewers didn't get to see on the show?
BJS Richard Blais came to the house for breakfast and hung out with us. That was really fun.
SK: Who do you think deserved to go home on last night’s episode?
BJS: Oh man, that's a tough one. It's hard to say, I wasn't able to try anyone else's food.
SK: What was the best experience you had on the show?
BJS: I've made some serious friendships on the show. We chat daily and I'm sure we will for a very long time.
SK: What was the biggest challenge for you on the show?
BJS: A lot of it! Living in a room with three other adults, not being able to speak to anyone at my three restaurants back home. Having the eight returning chefs as competition was a pretty big head trip that was hard to shake off.
SK: Who's your favorite Top Chef contestant of all time and why?
BJS: Gregory Gourdet. He is a very good friend of mine and did a great job representing PDX and himself.
After repeated heartbreak on national television, it's finally Nick Viall's turn on The Bachelor. Fans have learned a lot about him these past few years, but many know little about his life before he was villainized on The Bachelorette. Turns out, he's not nearly as horrible as we've been led to believe.
Born in Milwaukee, Viall grew up in a big, loving family with 11 siblings. His parents have been married for nearly four decades, so there's no question that he's witnessed a beautiful example of true love. He graduated from Waukesha North High School in 1999 and then attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where he studied accounting. He was heavily involved in track and field during his college days and set the school record for the 3,200-meter relay.
After he graduated from college, Viall entered the world of software sales. Immediately prior to his first stint on The Bachelorette, he worked for Salesforce, where he was an account executive. It's hard to believe now, but at one time, his Twitter account revolved around his career — and no, we're not talking about modeling or reality TV!

When he wasn't busy with work, pre-Bachelorette Viall searched for the woman of his dreams away from the realm of reality television. Unfortunately, Andi Dorfman was far from his first failed attempt at finding true love. He dated journalist Kim Peiffer for some time — and she shared a few insights from their romance (and the odd experience of watching an ex on TV) in a story for InStyle. He may be a big star now, but at the time, Peiffer claims that he was a "classic Wisconsin boy."
The romance ended on good terms. It was a summer fling and Peiffer just wasn't ready for a serious relationship. That being said, she only has good memories of her time with Viall.
Later, Viall was in a seven-year relationship with the woman he thought for sure he would marry. Surprise, surprise... it didn't work out. During his initial stint with Dorfman on The Bachelorette, he confessed that his pre-Bachelorette flame dumped him and left him with a bruised ego. He decided to take a new approach to finding love — and the rest is history!

Strong personalities dominated Project Runway Season 15, and as a result, the drama was heavy until Cornelius Ortiz was eliminated for the second time. Viewers expected the claws to come out again for the reunion — and they did not come away disappointed!
One of the biggest arguments of the evening revolved around (surprise, surprise) the group challenge fiasco in which good friends Erin Robertson and Dexter Simmons appeared to leave all the work to former villain Ortiz. Robertson and Simmons now claim that they were unfairly portrayed and that they merely appeared hurtful due to bad editing.
Corenlius Ortiz video
Corenlius Ortiz video
Of course, the other contestants disagree. Ortiz thinks that the episode portrayed the situation with complete accuracy by highlighting how hard he worked and how much his fellow contestants slacked off. Mah-Jing Wong also believes that the episode accurately captured Robertson and Simmons' dynamic and their tendency to alienate others. Even Tim Gunn feels that the pair was portrayed correctly based on what he observed with his own eyes.
Editing can certainly skew things, but only to an extent. Yes, the powers that be at Lifetime may have been selective with what they chose to show, but then again, certain contestants manage to keep their noses clean, and as a result, have absolutely no instances of bad footage. If Robertson and Simmons had been more inclusive, it would have been far more difficult to edit their footage in a way that made them look bad.
To be fair, Robertson and Simmons were by no means the only contestants to act dismissively toward their team members. The same problem clearly occurred with Jenni Riccetti and Nathalia JMag, who were known to have secret meetings without Wong's input (although Riccetti largely acted as mediator). Amazingly, by the end of their little reunion tiff, JMag and Wong were able to agree that, despite their differences, they produced a magnificent runway look.
Ultimately, a show like Project Runway is going to try to push contestants' buttons. It is a testament to the designers' strength of character when they are able to avoid giving in to pressure and snapping at one another. We still have respect for the accomplishments of Ortiz, Robertson, Simmons and JMag, but episodes like these make us even more appreciative of Roberi Parra, Laurence Basse and other contestants who keep the drama to a minimum.

82. Chelsea
Free the talk show! Welcome to Chelsea, an all-new Netflix talk show hosted by Chelsea Handler. In-studio interviews meet dance classes in Russia. Conversations with tastemakers meet harajuku girls in Japan. It's out in the world, in the studio, three days a week and all over the world. It's Chelsea.
After the show recapped Viall's Bachelor Nation journey, from being Andi Dorfman's runner-up to Kaitlyn Bristowe's runner-up to making Jen Saviano his runner-up on Bachelor in Paradise, Viall took the stage — only to be hated on by Bachelor Nation fans.
The show set Viall up in a booth where fans were allowed to line up to tell him how they really felt about him. And they didn't hold back.
One fan said that her friends and family have always hated him.
Then another said, "Basically, I just don’t like you."
Viall replied that he doesn't like himself sometimes either. What?! I felt myself getting teary-eyed for him!
But the hate wasn't complete until another called out Viall for his tight pants.
I'll be the first one to admit, I'm a huge Nick Viall fan, and I can't wait to see him as the Bachelor. So what's with all the continued hate? Hasn't Nick suffered enough heartbreak? He was, after all, left brokenhearted by Bachelorettes Bristowe and Dorfman. I really don't think he needs fan rejection, too.
Plus, what reasons do people have for hating him? I just don't understand it. Are people still upset that he dished on his fantasy suite time with Dorfman? Because I really don't blame him for that one. He was grieving and he wanted an explanation, and she wouldn't talk to him except in front of the cameras. It was the only opportunity he had to get that closure.
Then, he did everything right with Bristowe. She initiated the pre-fantasy suite sex. It was definitely consensual, and she's the one who was dating multiple men. Not that I think either of them did anything wrong. That's exactly the point.
Sure, there are rumors that he dumped Saviano when he found out he was chosen as the Bachelor. If that's the case, then that's not so cool, but so far, that's just rumors.
This may the best news ever: We're closer than ever to all but officially confirming that a Will & Grace revival is happening in 2017. This is not a drill, people. This is real. Barely 24 hours into 2017, Megan Mullally (better known as Karen Walker on Will & Grace) posted a somewhat cryptic tweet involving the core Will & Grace cast. Ambiguously captioned, "Self-explan" (short for "self-explanatory"), the photo Mullally included feature the cast smiling and throwing martinis towards the camera. It's a totally joyous picture for what could be some totally joyous news. But do we have a real reason to get our hopes up?
There have been rumors of a Will & Grace revival since late 2016 floating around out there. It had been tough to know whether the revival was actually happening, partially because of popularity of '90s and '00s reboots in 2016 (Fuller House, Gilmore Girls) and partially because the cast kept dropping little hints. Those October and November 2016 hints were actually in reference to an Election Day Minisode that briefly revisited Will, Grace, Karen, & Jack as they reconvened in Will & Grace's apartment to discuss who they were voting for. Now, Mullally's tweet (and subsequent Instagram post) seem to be stirring up those revival rumors again and it may finally be time to get your hopes up.
So where does rumor actually meet truth? Following the success of the Election Day episode, there was discussion of a Will & Grace revival at NBC because why not follow that hype? Talks died down over the holidays; now, the fact that Mullally is yet again posting about the show could be some form of excitement-building for the official announcement. While there is no official confirmation from NBC, The Hollywood Reporter wrote about actor Leslie Jordan's recent comments that NBC ordered 10 episodes and that the revival will allegedly go into production sometime in July.
Because there is no official word from NBC, we have no way of knowing yet whether the revival will stream on Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, or NBC itself; the possibilities, however, are endless. That's especially true for what the revival would actually cover. If the "10 episode" rumor is true, then there won't be much time to fully explore the lives of Will, Grace, Karen, & Jack in 2017 (although the Election Day episode did cover some major ground). Any guess about the plot is a good one, though, because it means that no matter what, we'll have a Will & Grace revival to revel in.
I sincerely hope that Mullally's tweet is not just a New Year's throwback but instead a confirmation of the revival. Sure, it's great to wish people a Happy New Year, but wouldn't the confirmation of a revival just be so much better?
Two years and countless Trump scandals later...and Celebrity Apprentice has finally returned. A lot has changed since Leeza Gibbons won, including a move to California and, of course, Arnold Schwarzenegger taking over as top dog. So far, we're loving the show's fresh new vibe.
There are definitely some big changes to Celebrity Apprentice, but the basic structure of the show remains essentially the same: Two groups of celebrities must work on challenging projects. One member of the losing team is eliminated, but instead of hearing Trump's infamous "You're fired," the unfortunate contestant receives a deliciously cheesy line from Schwarzenegger, plus a ride over Los Angeles in (what else?) a chopper.
Image: NBC
Schwarzenegger brings a different energy to the show, and we're not just talking about the addition of iconic movie lines. Despite being a huge movie star and former politician, he does a surprisingly good job of relating to the contestants. He tells them interesting stories of how he overcame significant challenges — and yes, he has gone through some difficult times. For example, he chatted with the female team about how, as a teenager promoting his gym, he stood outside in the town square and posed in his underwear. His goal in telling this story was to communicate the importance of going above and beyond.
Schwarzenegger has received a lot of positive feedback from viewers thus far, but not everybody is into his approach. He's been attacked for being too cheesy and for not firing Snooki, who clearly deserved to be let go. Other viewers frowned on his exchange with Jon Lovitz, who he demanded address him as "the Governor" and not by his first name.

Some Twitter users were relieved that Trump was out of the picture, although a few were quick to acknowledge that, given the choice, they'd much rather have him as reality star than as president.

Whatever you think of Donald Trump's politics, he definitely deserves credit for his accomplishments with The Apprentice. That being said, the switch to Arnold Schwarzenegger is not necessarily a bad thing. Roll your eyes all you want at his cheesy one-liners, but we'll never get enough of hearing, "Hasta la vista, baby!"
What do you think of the new Celebrity Apprentice? Is it better without Donald Trump, or has it lost its original spark? Comment and share your opinion below.
Every show is more amusing when it features inept celebrities, so of course, MasterChef is a delight when our favorite celebs attempt to make magic in the kitchen. This year's MasterChef Celebrity Showdown was no exception. From NeNe Leakes to Tiki and Ronde Barber, a variety of celebrities tried their best to impress Gordon Ramsay and Christina Tosi. Our favorite by far, however, was Cheryl Hines, and not just because she can whip up a mean serving of chicken and waffles.
Hines is amazing as the wife (and eventual ex-wife) of Larry David on Curb Your Enthusiasm, but she's even more entertaining on reality television. From the moment she stepped out for her battle against Kal Penn, she was a ball of energy. She became more and more lively as the challenge went on. She was aided, of course, by the beer that she was supposed to use as an ingredient in her dish. A few chugs of beer and she was positively giddy. Her animated facial expressions lit up the show.
Image: FOX
The most surprising moment occurred when Hines approached Penn from behind with tongs, in hopes of teasing him. Instead, she accidentally poked him in the eye. She didn't mean any harm, and Penn took it in stride. The mishap didn't stop her from being a goofball in the kitchen!
Ultimately, Penn came away with the win. It was by no means a pity victory, as he did an excellent job with his tacos. But as both Ramsay and Tosi acknowledged, it was a very close contest. Hines' fried chicken was commended by the pair of judges, although Ramsay thought her waffles were a bit too sweet. He was, however, impressed by her ability to include beer in the waffles, chicken, and the marmalade.
Image: FOX
Hines may not have won the prize for best culinary concoction, but she did make MasterChef Celebrity Showdown immeasurably more entertaining. Yes, the show's other contestants were also fun to watch, but there was just something special about Hines. Perhaps all celebrities involved in the show should be treated to a bottle of beer!
The hump jokes were all over the place with that camel. Oh, and the running shoes because Nick is always the "runner-up."
4. There was the girl from his past
Liz and Nick slept together during Jade and Tanner's wedding and, after she did the rejecting following the sex, decided to show up on national television to talk it out with him three months later. Still, Nick gave her a rose, but I don't blame him for being skeptical about Liz's motives.
5. Nick isn't into the "right reasons"
Just because Nick is skeptical about Liz's intentions, doesn't mean he's going to get preachy this season about the girls' motives. In fact, he made it clear in his conversation with Liz that he isn't interested in that. But it won't stop him from his well-founded fear of rejection.
6. There was kissing
Corrine is already making enemies after she pounced on Nick the first chance she got. Even Nick was taken aback by the bold moves. But that doesn't mean he's against kissing on the first date. He gave first impression rose winner Rachel a romantic smooch.
7. He talked about his past. A lot.
What would a season of The Bachelor be without baggage? And Nick has got more than maybe any other contestant ever. Which is saying something considering that Brad didn't pick a woman at all during his season and then came back for a second go at it.
8. There's sex drama. So much sex drama.
Sex drama seems to follow Nick around like the plague. And, thanks to him, the show has become a think tank discussion into dating etiquette in the 21st century. Forget kissing and telling, Nick sexes and tells. But it doesn't look like it'll be him doing the telling this season. Rather, Corrine is doing the trying desperately to get him naked, and Liz is blabbing to the other girls about her one night stand with Nick before filming.
Granted, that's a lot of Bachelor essentials the show managed to hit on all in the first episode alone. I loved every minute of the building drama and tension. That being said, I was surprised at the key storylines that were seemingly left out.
1. No one got super drunk
Sure, there were girls that were drunk. But no one got so sloppy that they're worth mentioning in this post. And that might be a first.
2. No moms
None of the women seem to have children, another rarity for the show.
3. No divorcees or widows
Just like with the moms, none of the women talked about their past with other men. Usually, the women come from all different backgrounds and stages of relationship life.
5. No outrageous professions
Yes, there was an aspiring dolphin trainer, but she actually seemed really serious about those dolphins. Let's not forget that Emily and Hayley Ferguson were introduced on Ben Higgins' season simply as "Twin." Compared to that, the aspiring dolphin trainer seems super legit.
Why were there so many red dresses?! And why were the girls so freaked out that so many were wearing red?! If that's all they had to freak out about then I'm going to go ahead and call this a tame premiere.

Which shows are you excited to watch this month? Let us know in the comments.
On Sunday, Jan. 1., Sherlock finally returned with its Season 4 premiere after way too long a hiatus. If you've yet to watch the episode, then read no further due to major spoilers.
There's no doubt the new episode delivered on many levels, including its twists, turns, excitement and jokes. However, there was one thing fans probably weren't expecting. Obviously, we're talking about that shocking death.
Did anyone really think Mary would die? That's right, Mary Watson is no more. After her past life as an agent came back to haunt her, Mary ended up jumping in front of Sherlock and saving him from a fatal bullet. She truly was a heroic badass. Both Mary and her portrayer, Amanda Abbington, will be missed greatly.
Mary's death is one of the most heartbreaking things to have ever happened in the series. There have been plenty of devastating moments, but this one truly takes the cake. With that said, let's become even more depressed over it by listing some of the reasons Mary's demise is extremely devastating.
What makes her death all the more upsetting is that she was one of the few female characters on Sherlock. Plus, she was a badass who never needed saving, held her own against both Sherlock and John, could take down any enemy who crossed her and inspired women of all ages along the way.
Mary and John's relationship was never perfect, especially with Mary's lies about her true identity and past life. Her secrets and choice to run away in Season 4 definitely caused friction with John. Then, there is that whole thing with John talking to that random woman, all the while making him super-unlikeable. He was never shown sleeping with the woman, but he was texting her quite a bit. Granted, he seemingly cut things off with her, but there's no doubt his marriage with Mary didn't end on happy terms.
Remember when Sherlock made a vow to always protect John, Mary and now Rosie? Well, John is angry at Sherlock for not following through, because Mary is now dead. He wants nothing to do with Sherlock. Whenever these two are apart, it just doesn't feel right and is truly upsetting.
We never thought we'd see the day Sherlock voluntarily went to see a therapist. That's how much of an affect Mary's death has had on him. He is beyond heartbroken. He also probably feels somewhat guilty that Mary saved his life and not the other way around. It's rare to see Sherlock become emotional and when he does, it's, well, emotional.
In anticipation of her death, Mary sent Sherlock a disc giving him one last case: "Save John Watson." He is going to need saving more now than ever. Here's hoping Sherlock is up to the task and won't give up, because John is going through so much at the moment.
To see Mary pregnant, give birth, show so much love to her baby girl and then die was all difficult to watch. The only way Rosie will remember her mother is through photos and stories from friends and family, but mainly her father.
After getting shot and John trying to save her life, Mary said to him, "I think this is it… you made me so happy." She then added, "Being Mary Watson was the only life worth living." If you didn't cry at this point, then you clearly have no heart.
Mary always genuinely liked Sherlock. As she was dying, she told him that again. A look of pure sadness overcame Sherlock, which was a lot to take in. See? He does have feelings.
Of course Top Chef's latest eliminee fell victim to the "birthday curse." You know, as Silvia Barban said during Episode 5, whenever a cheftestant has a birthday coming up, they get the axe. Remember when it happened to Leah Cohen in Season 5? Or how about Stacy Cogswell in Season 12?
So, was Barban surprised to get eliminated? And who is she rooting for to win? Let's take a look at what she had to say in our exclusive interview.
SheKnows: Were you surprised by your elimination?
Silvia Barban: I was really surprised to get eliminated.
SK: What was it like working with all the judges on the show? Who's the most intimidating?
SB: Working with the judges was great but also intense. I admire Tom Colicchio so much. His knowledge of food and the many chefs that he has worked with along his journey made me very intimidated. But in Last Chance Kitchen, it became a challenge to make him proud of me.
SK: Which contestant do you think deserves to win? Or who are you rooting for?
SB: I am rooting for Casey [Thompson]... she deserves to win. She was my roommate and mentor on the show and helped me stay calm. I'm also rooting for Brooke [Williamson].
SK: Who did you consider your biggest competition?
SB: [Williamson] since the challenge of the radish, but I'm happy I had to lose to someone like her making the best desserts of all Top Chef than to lose to some other chef that I don't think deserves to still be on the show.
SK: Was there anyone on the show you really clashed with? Who was it and why?
SB: I clashed with Sylva [Senat] since day one. I didn't have a good feeling with him. In the BBQ challenge, I had some problems working with him.
SK: What's one thing that happened behind the scenes viewers didn't get to see on the show?
SB: Padma [Lakshmi] sometimes spoke to me in Italian. I knew she could speak Italian, but still, it was surprising!
SK: Who do you think deserved to go home on last night’s episode?
SB: Sylva.
SK: What was the best experience you had on the show?
SB: One of the best experiences beside cooking with the greatest chefs?? Well, that night on the BBQ challenge, besides what happened, it was really magical to spend the night there, try to control the fire, to have my first s'more from Casey and Jim, and to have a nice talk and selfie with Sheldon and Emily.
SK: What was the biggest challenge for you on the show?
SB: My biggest challenge was to let the judges understand my food. I never had the chance to cook or have Southern food, so it was very difficult for me to cook in that way.
SK: Who's your favorite Top Chef contestant of all time and why?
SB: It is hard to say because all my favorite Top Chefs now are my friends and contestants.
From real estate mogul to reality star to president, Donald Trump's career has seen many ups and downs over the years. As he basks in the glow of his recent campaign victory, it's easy for the public to forget that before he was the most unexpected political success story, he was viewed as little more than a punch line.
During tonight's episode of Frontline, Trump's unlikely rise from joke of the '90s to political powerhouse was explored in detail. According to the PBS documentary, the big turning point for Trump occurred when he took on the role Arnold Schwarzenegger now enjoys on The Apprentice. Prior to this reality TV gig, he was thought of as a manifestation of 1980s excesses — and a joke of a businessman. Remember, this is the guy who promised McDonalds' Grimace that "together, we could own this town."
Donald Trump Grimace video
Donald Trump Grimace video
Those interviewed for the Frontline special claim that public perception is everything to Trump, who desperately wants to be viewed as a winner. He could not tolerate the poor reputation he earned during the 1990s, so he worked hard to turn it around. For all his flaws, it's impossible to deny how savvy he is with the media — with his carefully constructed image on The Apprentice, he went from a laughingstock to a figure of admiration. He began to realize that this rise did not have to end with reality television.
According to Frontline, Trump eventually began to view fans of The Apprentice as more than mere viewers — he regarded them as potential voters. He even asked his contestants whether they'd consider voting for him if he ran for office. Viewers thought he was joking, but if Frontline's theory is correct, he already had a plan in motion by this point.
What's the takeaway of all this? Well, those reality shows we all love to hate are way more powerful than anybody ever expected. Trump's story is a clear warning: Do not discount the power of reality TV. Could Arnold Schwarzenegger be the next to snag the White House? Unlikely, given his birthplace... but then again, Trump's victory was widely regarded as not just unlikely, but impossible.
Do you think The Apprentice made Donald Trump's presidency possible? Comment and share your opinion below.
The Fosters will return at the end of this month, picking up right where the finale left off with Jude and Noah. Thankfully, you don't have to wait that long to see how the drama will unfold.
Turns out, Jude's decision-making skills aren't going to improve much, at least at the beginning of the season.
In the clip, Noah and Jude have left the music festival to be alone. Noah takes Jude to a boat where he promptly lights up a joint. He and Jude both take puffs of the weed.
"Not bad, huh?" Noah comments as the boys share the joint and enjoy the view.
Unfortunately, Jude is reportedly going to learn the hard way that the risks he's taking don't come without consequences. His moms have already caught him smoking with Noah once. And they're not stupid. He'll definitely get caught again — maybe even by the police — especially since they are smoking in a public place this time.

Tuesday’s news about Megyn Kelly’s exit from Fox News for a new daytime show on NBC had Days of Our Lives fans groaning. What will happen to the beloved soap?
The daytime schedule is already filled with syndicated shows on most of NBC’s affiliates. The network confirmed the show will run Monday through Friday, but the time has not been determined yet. Something has to give way, will it be DOOL?
A Hollywood Reporter article isn’t giving much reassurance to fans either. While the daily entertainment trade paper stated that the 9 a.m. hour of The Today Show was always a possibility, “the 1 p.m. [hour], when the soap Days of Our Lives currently airs, is more likely.”
To add insult to injury, the New York City market will be shifting DOOL to the 12 p.m. hour beginning Monday, Jan. 16. This changes the viewership habits of longtime fans who have become accustomed to the the 1 p.m. time slot.
DOOL was on the brink of cancellation last year until it received a one-season renewal last February. There is a second-season option that NBC can utilize, but will they now that Kelly has been brought into the fold? The show hasn't been a ratings bonanza for NBC for years and has been struggling against the three remaining soaps.
Kelly was the most discussed journalist from the 2016 presidential campaign. Her frequent sparring with President-elect Donald Trump made for constant headlines and a hotly-contested bidding war for Kelly, whose Fox News contract was up for renewal.
Soap viewers know that their favorite shows often get juggled around to make room for new daytime talk shows. This happened in 2012 when ABC shifted General Hospital for Katie Couric’s now-cancelled series. Is there enough room on the schedule for NBC to do something similar for DOOL?
While no premiere date has been announced for Kelly’s show, keep your eyes peeled for an NBC announcement on DOOL’s fate. We are crossing our fingers for all of the residents of Salem.
WARNING: The tweet featured in this article contains offensive language.
Did he or didn’t he? That’s the big question soap fans are asking themselves this week after an offensive and racist tweet appeared on The Young and the Restless star Eric Braeden’s timeline.
The post was not an original tweet, but one that was retweeted from another account and featured a meme with his Y&R character, Victor Newman. It has since been deleted from Braeden’s account, however, the tweet is still available elsewhere on Twitter.

Eric Braeden Twitter issue
Braeden issued a statement via his publicist to Deadline about the offensive post.
At the same time, it leaves longtime Y&R viewers scratching their heads and wondering if he hastily retweeted the post thinking it was funny. Once he saw the reaction on Twitter, perhaps he had second thoughts and deleted the tweet?
We will never know the full truth since we don’t know what happened on Braeden’s end when it comes to the hacking incident. We are not privy to that information and it might have been more that just his social media account that was hacked. And while he’s certainly had a few run-ins with his co-stars in the past, he’s always been gracious to his fans.
Braeden also had taken a stand against racism just two days before on his account by retweeting a post by Oliver Willis. It would seem out of character and rather insensitive to flippantly drop a racist slur just days later.

Braeden has already moved past the controversy by promoting his upcoming book I’ll Be Damned and interacting heavily with his fans on his social media account. By the looks of things, Y&R fans are sticking by Braeden, who has always shown them true class and grace.

She added to the cameras, "Life with Kaci Lynn and Bradley is just so fast-paced, and especially with Zach having to work the hours he works. He works 12-hour shifts and there's a lot of days he doesn't get home until 11 or 12 at night."

Whitney got such a response from people on social media wondering how she lost her baby weight, she wrote an Instagram post about it.
She said she doesn't use "wacky diets or weight loss pills," nor does she count calories. Instead, Whitney explains she drinks lots of water, tries to stop eating after 6 p.m., cuts down on carbs and sweets and allows herself cheat days. Whitney added that she also tries to do intense workouts like running at least three times a week.

Another day, another cryptic message out of The Walking Dead camp — the latest of which is a photo series of, uh, nuts. And cantaloupes. And a collection of dirty rubber duckies. Also known as "Go home, AMC... you're drunk."

At least with The Walking Dead, everything is usually revealed in due time. So what in the fresh hell could these new photos be hinting at? Doesn't AMC know we're busy trying to solve other first-world problems like getting our winged eyeliner even (impossible as it may be)?
To be honest, when I look at the photos, I got nothing — they're like a macabre assortment of photographic tarot cards. Or a rebus. You remember those, right? Like, an eyeball plus the letter H plus an ear plus a sheep would be "I hear you." Oh, hey, yeah... I suck at those.
Thank God for the good people of the interwebz, though, 'cause they're full of ideas (#blessed). According to idle speculation online — which, let's be real, is right up there with hard journalism these days — the random amalgamation of produce-related pictures hints at a new group arriving on the scene, which is affectionately being dubbed "The Garbage Pail Kids."
Sidebar: Where my '80s babies at? Someone needs to make a spoof video of Adam Bomb and Joltin' Joe squaring off with the Saviors, stat.
Now, back to our regularly scheduled programming: The other photos seem to indicate a lot of death, dying, fighting, killing and other such doom and gloom. While this isn't exactly different for the Debbie Downer that is the zombocalypse — every party has a pooper, as they say — it certainly seems to suggest war is imminent. And, let's be real, we're all ready to see Rick get savage AF again.
I guess we'll have to wait until The Walking Dead returns on Feb. 12 to see whether or not this lunatic soup of teaser photos actually amounts to something or if AMC hired the salty social media manager from Wendy's to gaslight the world.
In the meantime, have fun wracking your brain over these beauties:
Let me start by saying I love primetime comedies. Modern Family, New Girl, The Big Bang Theory and the like kill it in their time slots. But drama just can't seem to quite get there lately on any of the major networks.
Unfortunately, Emerald City seems to fall into that category. It's almost there. It's so close to success but, for whatever reason, just doesn't quite get there.
I wanted to love it. I really, really did. The premise was intriguing, and director Tarsem Singh is an absolute visionary of epic proportions.
Maybe the problem is that Wizard of Oz has simply been reimagined too many times at this point. Maybe it's because part of me feels like this series is trying too hard to be the new, edgier Once Upon a Time. Maybe it's that Emerald City wanted to be gritty a la an HBO show but was forced to reign it in because it is, instead, on NBC.
Whatever the reason, I just wasn't captivated, hanging on the edge of my seat for more.
I'm a big believer that new shows deserve at least a four episode window to get their act together so I'll still be watching Emerald City, keeping my fingers crossed.
The show definitely does have some things going for it. It's suspenseful and creepy. The story is not something we've never seen before, even though it's taking it's cues from the Wizard of Oz. The cast is beautifully diverse, which we desperately need on television. The witch of the East was awesome and saying that doesn't even do her justice. Maybe most importantly, Emerald City already has fans rooting for it to succeed, me included.
