Ben Higgins' wedding stress showcases his not-so-eligible Bachelor side

$

Ben Higgins isn't doing a very good job of convincing Lauren Bushnell, or any of us watching at home, that he actually wants to get married.

More: Ben Higgins has a lot to say about his wedding plans — or lack thereof

Last week on Ben & Lauren, he was all stressed out about airing their wedding on television, and now he's stressing about every other aspect of their planning. The cake tasting made him upset over the coconut debacle. The registry freaked him out because he felt like there were too many unnecessary items. Then the engagement photos threw him because he didn't think the couple needed more photos.

All of his stress just seems to reinforce the suspected undercurrent of the show: Higgins is having some doubts. Major cold feet alert.

Now, let me say, I do kinda feel bad for Higgins and Bushnell. They did an interview recently talking about how hard the reality TV world has been for them because Ben & Lauren puts a spotlight on their insecurities. I get it. But I also think there's only so much setup going on in the show. The house viewing with Lace Morris? Setup. The zookeeper job exploration? Setup. Higgins' constant questioning of the wedding preparation? I don't think it's a setup. This is one of the few elements of the show that does, in fact, feel genuine.

More: Why are they casting women so much younger than Nick Viall on The Bachelor?

Like I said during Episode 2, I don't think Higgins and Bushnell are necessarily doomed at this point. All couples go through things. I just think these two might be rushing things given the state of Higgins' nerves. Of course, Higgins shouldn't have proposed to begin with if he wasn't truly ready because Bushnell clearly wants to be his wife.

Do you think Bushnell and Higgins' wedding disagreements are a sign that they need to slow down the planning?

6 reasons to love the inspirational Burberry ad, The Tale of Thomas Burberry

Every year British luxury fashion retailer Burberry impresses us with its creative fashion campaigns and lookbooks, and this year the brand has pushed the boundaries even further and created something extra special for their 2016 Christmas campaign.

More: Back off, haters! Kate Middleton's Vogue cover is perfection

It's a three-minute video in celebration of Burberry's 160th anniversary called The Tale of Thomas Burberry, and it tells the story of the man who founded the brand in 1856 and opened its first store on Haymarket in 1891. And this should go without saying, but there's a lot to love about it.

Burberry Christmas campaign

Burberry Christmas campaign

1. It has a star-studded cast

First of all, it's impossible not to take note of the star-studded cast in Burberry's campaign. The lead role of Thomas Burberry is played by Domhnall Gleeson; Sienna Miller stars as his fictional first love; Dominic West is the polar explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton (who wore Burberry gabardine garments for three Antarctic expeditions); and Lily James stars as a fictional character based on adventurer Betty Kirby-Green, who flew from England to Cape Town in 1937 dressed in Burberry.

2. It's not just the cast who are super-talented

Written by Matt Charman, The Tale of Thomas Burberry is helmed by director Asif Kapadia, who won an Oscar for the documentary Amy earlier this year.

More: One year later, Tim Gunn is still trash-talking Kanye's Yeezy clothing line

3. It's about so much more than just fashion

While Burberry prides itself on being a luxury fashion brand, this campaign is about so much more. Instead of just having a series of beautiful models sporting the latest collections, the brand appeals to deeper emotions by creating an inspiring storyline that sends the message that we should all dare to be different, that it's OK to be so and that following your dreams is vital to your happiness. It creates this message by taking various events from the company's long history and showing how they shaped the values that they hold today.

4. It proves that everything you love is worth working for

The story doesn't just show the highs of Thomas Burberry's life, but also the lows, and this juxtaposition makes the story even more relatable as it proves that sometimes it can take hearing the word "no" many times — as we see with Burberry's boss shutting his creation of gabardine, the weatherproof fabric that is still used in all of Burberry's trench coats — before you can succeed.

5. It's less geared towards products

While we understand that Burberry's Christmas campaign is, of course, designed to sell their gear, it has taken a different approach from previous years, and this one feels a lot less like a marketing scheme to empty our pockets and more like a piece of art for us to appreciate. This helps to create an emotional bond with the consumer — and we like the subtlety.

6. It's about celebrating British heritage

And perhaps one of the most beautiful things about the film is its celebration of British heritage — need we say more?

Chicago Fire spoilers: Get ready for all kinds of Dawson & Casey twists

$

When it comes to any 100th episode TV celebration, there are bound to be some major twists and turns. That definitely seems to be the case for Chicago Fire's 100th episode, as the cast and executive producers teased at NBC's One Chicago Day.

More: It's official — Chicago P.D.'s Burgess is finally getting a promotion

Mainly, there seems to be a lot in store for Dawson and Casey. As for what's ahead for the beloved couple, it will be both good and bad. First, the good. Dawsey fans have patiently been waiting for these two to finally tie the knot, but will they actually get married in the 100th? Per Monica Raymund (Dawson), they certainly are headed in the right direction.

"It would be nice," she said about whether the two will get married soon. "I don’t want to spoil it, because I can’t say yes or no, but I can say we do see them make a commitment to each other." That's better than nothing, right? If you ask executive producer Michael Brandt, he'll echo Raymund's sentiments. "Casey and Dawson make a big move in their relationship, something we’ve been talking about for five years actually," Brandt said about what Dawsey fans can expect in the 100th. That sure sounds like a wedding, but viewers will have to wait to see.

Now, for the not-so-good news, which has to do with Dawson and Casey's foster son, Louie. Basically, break out the tissues, because as Miranda Rae Mayo (Stella) dished, it "is just heart-wrenching to watch." Are you ready? Louie's biological father comes back into the picture.

Dawsey and Louie
Image: Tumblr

More: Next time a real creep won't leave you alone, refer to Sophia Bush's letter

"Yes, Louie’s dad shows up and he kind of gives us a run for our money," Raymund revealed. "He does end up being the actual biological father. We have him tested. So, Casey and Dawson decide to sit down with him and he actually doesn’t show up. We don’t really know what’s going to happen yet. At this point, I think we might go to court over it and let the legal system handle it. I’m not sure what’s going to happen, to be honest, I haven’t read that far."

That will be hard to watch, but it seems like other elements of the 100th may help ease the potential heartache. For example, there is a big Molly's storyline.

"There’s definitely an acknowledgement to the 100th episode, because Molly’s finds out it’s having its 100th anniversary as a bar," Brandt said. "Of course, that doesn’t turn out well. They think it’s going to be a great idea and then this reporter digs up this not-so-nice history of Molly’s. There’s some violence and some gangster activity and, like, dead bodies piled up in front of it in these photos. They find old photos, so of course that turns out bad for Herrmann and everybody at Molly’s, but it’s funny."

Overall, Dawsey fans better brace themselves for the 100th episode, which airs Tuesday, Nov. 29 at 10/9c on NBC.

The Brown family may start censoring their lives more on Sister Wives

Get ready for another crazy season of Sister Wives on TLC, where Meri Brown’s catfishing incident still seems to be a thorn in their sides. The show premieres on Sunday, Nov. 27 with an explosive two-hour episode with Meri, Kody and Mariah Brown still licking their wounds as a family.

More: The Sister Wives are looking to make some real change for polygamous families

Season 8 trailer for Sister Wives-2

Season 8 trailer for Sister Wives-2

The new TLC trailer for Season 8 reveals that Mariah is not in a place of forgiveness with her mother. Kody wants her to forgive her mother and admits he somewhat blames himself for his wife’s transgression.

“I am not doubting that I was somewhat a catalyst,” he said to Mariah in the trailer.

What’s even more interesting is the fact that he admits to the cameras that his conversation with his daughter about the catfishing incident was “a mistake to be filmed.” Has the Brown family reached their threshold over what should and should not be filmed as a family?

More: Sister Wives' Meri Brown has another boyfriend, and no, he's not a catfish

The Browns have been very open about their plural life and have shared their ups and downs with the public. Kody has said before that he wanted to quit the show after having an ugly on-air fight with his third wife, Christine. It took the family five years to get to that place since the show debuted in 2010.

Is this a turning point for the family? Will they keep some things private and out of their Sister Wives storyline? It might be the only way for the family to truly get over Meri’s betrayal.

More: You don't have to be a polygamist to love the new Sister Wives workout plan

They’ve already been open about the experience. Do we need to witness every excruciating conversation about the pain the family is going through? Perhaps resolving this issue off camera and giving an update later is the best course of action for the Browns.

Viewers are going to see Meri and Kody continue to work out the issues in their 26-year marriage, but maybe it’s time to move it away from prying eyes. I am sure the TLC show provides them with a great source of income for their large family, but at a certain point, Kody may feel the need to say “enough” for the sake and sanity of his wives and children.

You can blame Voight for Antonio's Chicago P.D. exit

$
0
0

It will be a sad day when Episode 8 of Chicago P.D. Season 4 rolls around, because that means Antonio (Jon Seda) will officially head on over to Chicago Justice. It was announced in September by Deadline that Seda would transition to the latest Chicago series from Dick Wolf, and as unfortunate as that is, at least he's not leaving the franchise permanently.

More: Sophia Bush on starting a new chapter and distrusting other women

During NBC's Chicago One Day event, Jason Beghe (Voight) dished about his close friend's exit from P.D., and it was definitely hard for the actor to see Seda depart. "It’s a heartbreak," Beghe told reporters. "For me personally, it’s a heartbreak.… It’s an honor for Antonio. It’s an honor for Jon.… It’s probably going to be good for the audiences. But for Jason and for P.D., it’s not good."

Beghe even noted how much he loved working with Seda, "There’s not an actor I’d rather do a scene with." Of course, they will still continue working side by side thanks to all of the crossovers, but it will no longer be on a daily basis.

So, how exactly will Antonio make his exit? As previously reported by Deadline, "It was a creative decision based on the natural trajectory of the character who had been hitting a wall on his Intelligence beat and, as a single father, had been looking for a more stable, steady job."

Antonio and Voight
Image: Tumblr

Beghe also touched upon Antonio's exit and according to him, it's actually Voight who suggests Antonio leave. That's definitely shocking to hear, but as Beghe explained, "It’s Voight [who] suggests that he goes and Antonio’s like, ‘Do you have a problem with me? You know, I heard that you gave the OK.’ [Voight] says, ‘I didn’t give the OK, I suggested you.’ That's a line. Because it’s good for Antonio. It’s not good for Voight. I think [another] line goes something like, ‘I had one good boss when I was coming up; he said never hold back a rising star. It’s time for you to have your own crew.’ So that’s good for Chicago, it’s good for Antonio."

More: Next time a real creep won't leave you alone, refer to Sophia Bush's letter

Voight isn't one to hold back anyone when it comes to something they want to do, especially if it's good for that person. So, as surprising as it is, it does make sense that Voight would suggest Antonio.

As previously reported, P.D.'s executive producer Matt Olmstead dished to reporters at the NBC event that Antonio's spot will be filled by none other than Burgess. "That’s one of the things we’re dealing with in the fall finale," Olmstead said. "In [Episode] 8, the fall finale, we have this kind of double move where Antonio’s going to Justice, there’s a spot open, and that’s when Voight basically says, ‘Welcome aboard.’ So, she is going to be moving up to Intelligence."

If you were to ask Beghe about filling Antonio's spot, he feels that no one will ever be able to replace him fully. "You never fill that spot," he admitted. "To me, I thought they ought to take his jacket and hang it on the wall.… He’ll never be replaced, but casting isn’t my gig." Fans probably agree with him, but there's no doubt Burgess deserves the promotion and will do a fantastic job. It will just be an adjustment without Antonio on Voight's team and seeing him on P.D. every week.

Chicago P.D. airs Wednesdays at 10/9c on NBC.

Survivor viewers outraged over Michaela Bradshaw's shocking elimination

$

Wow. Have you lifted your jaw off the floor yet? In its 33 seasons, Michaela Bradshaw's elimination from Survivor: Millennials Vs. Gen-X may be one of the biggest, most surprising blindsides ever.

She didn't hide her emotions and go out quietly, either. Her anger and disappointment erupted in the best Tribal Council stare down we've seen in a long time. As the votes tallied up against her, Michaela turned sharply with glaring eyes darted at Jay. "Did you do that?" she asked with a disgusted tone in her voice. Jay, with a villainous smirk on his face smugly retorted, "Yeah, I did it."

Michaela didn't even watch Jeff Probst snuff out her torch. Instead, her fiery eyes kept burning their stare at Jay who proudly glared back. "You just fucked up," she said to Jay. "You're going to feel like an asshole." She then angrily smacked leaves away while storming out of Tribal Council forever.

Her ouster was a huge bummer for fans who saturated Twitter with their shock and disappointment.

Here's my take. While I am selfishly sad that Michaela's amazing personality has been booted out of the game, it was a smart play for Jay. Michaela is an outspoken force to be reckoned with, and she was clearly willing to do whatever possible to get herself the $1 million prize. With the merge looming, it was Jay's best shot at taking out his biggest potential threat. As much as I hated to see her go, it did make for some amazing TV, right? I am surprised, though, that she didn't reveal Jay's secret Idol to the entire tribe while going out in her blaze of glory.

But don't be too sad, Survivor fans. Rumor has it that Michaela is one of the returning castaways competing on Season 34, which begins airing in February.

American Horror Story should be renamed American Slaughter Story

$

The moral of American Horror Story: Roanoke seems to be something like this: When you go up against the devil's servants, you die. And you die in disgusting and twisted ways.

More: I refuse to say I'm disappointed with AHS: Roanoke's big twist

Roanoke has practically ditched the horror of this season and gone right for the mass killings. It shall now be referred to as American Slaughter Story.

Last week, I likened the bloodshed to The Walking Dead, but I see the error of my ways this week. On The Walking Dead, I still believe in the hope of survival. (Don't worry, no spoilers for those of you who haven't watched the latest TWD.) I am waiting and wondering how Rick and friends will rise above the sticky situation they're in. With Roanoke, I'm just waiting for all of the characters to meet their gruesome fates.

These characters have nowhere else to turn except on the blade itself. That seemed to be the symbolism behind Shelby's decision to take her own life. Well, that and the fact that she murdered Matt while trapped inside a murder house. It's really enough to make anyone ready to bite the bullet and call it quits.

More: Episode 5 better not be all the Evan Peters we get in AHS: Roanoke

I really don't see anyone surviving at this point. Of course, thanks to the show, we know that one person will walk (or run) away. Maybe Audrey or Lee. Maybe. And that's a big maybe. They're really the only one's left trying at this point, which — judging by past characters in the series — doesn't usually bode well.

What if Audrey and Lee both die and we enter a third chapter of Roanoke that mirrors Hotel's transition last season? With all the ghosts together, a new sort of character exploration might begin. It could also lead to new options of getting rid of The Butcher and her friends once and for all.

More: American Horror Story Season 6 might bring the series full circle

Or maybe they'll all just die except for that one, who will wind up in a mental institution shaking and mumbling for the rest of his/her days, and then a new couple will move in much to the delight and horror of the characters bound to the land. That just sounds depressing, which means it's probably the accurate guess given AHS' history of tragic ends.

Which character do you think will make it out of American Horror Story: Roanoke alive?

The internet can be a cold, ugly, mean place.

Keyboard warriors are on attack at all times, lurking around social media, and nobody is safe. Celebrities are especially susceptible to those trolling Twitter, and the venom the trolls spew can be downright vicious.

From actors to pop stars to the athletic elite, Jimmy Kimmel is giving every celeb who's been targeted the chance to face their attackers, so to speak, and the results have been nothing less than hilarious. The segment Mean Tweets on Jimmy Kimmel Live is making lemonade out of lemons and seriously cracking us up at the same time.

This installment is a treasure trove of hilarity, but the top tweet definitely goes to Phoebe, er, Lisa Kudrow. Come on, tweeter! How can you tell Lisa Kudrow to f*** off? We'd hang out with her any day. At least she took it in stride; her explosive laughter actually made us laugh even harder.

2. Chloë Moretz: "Chloe Moretz or whatever her stupid name is looks like my a**hole seriously she is not decent looking whatsoever."

First of all, Chloë Moretz is too decent looking! She's adorable. But more importantly, she thought of the most epic comeback ever, looking straight at the camera and crying, "You must have a really bleached a**hole." Genius.

3. John Stamos: "Guys John Stamos has a gross belly button :/"

We will agree with this one just because we want to see John Stamos lift up his shirt again. Ladies, he's 51 years old... just think about that. Hot!

1. Katy Perry: "I would rather chop my arm off and f*** myself with my detached limb than watch 'Katie perry the movie' What the f*** is wrong with the world."

Umm, you're right, what is wrong with the world? First, this is gross and dirty. Second, you're going to cut your arm off to avoid watching Katy Perry's movie? Maybe you should save that strategy for a more dire situation, like if Katy Perry fans take you hostage and lock you up until you memorize every single one of her lyrics and profess your love for her. Or Beliebers force you to watch Justin Bieber's movies. Then, cutting off your arm might be an understandable strategy. But, come on, exaggerating much? At least Katy Perry has a good response. Call that tweeter out, Katy!

2. Matt Leblanc: "Matt leblanc looks so old. #whathappened."

Matt Leblanc will always be Joey in our eyes. And he probably hates that.

3. Danny McBride: "If Mike Piazza's hair caught fire and someone put it out with a cast iron skillet, you'd have Danny McBride."

We don't get it, but it's hilarious. This is one joke you don't have to explain for everyone to laugh.

Taylor Swift has returned to her country roots — onstage at the CMAs

The Country Music Awards on Wednesday night was filled with surprises. Some were bad, like Dolly Parton not being able to finish her speech even though she won a Lifetime Achievement Award, and others great, like Beyoncé showing up and performing "Daddy Lessons" with the Dixie Chicks and Taylor Swift making a return to the CMAs stage.

Swift's music has recently been more pop than country, so fans were pleased when she returned to the country music stage to introduce the Entertainer of the Year (an accolade she has won twice). Taking to the stage in a beautiful sparkly gown, Swift was met with a round of applause as she addressed the audience.

It's been almost 13 years since I came to Nashville with a dream to be a songwriter and recording artist, and I learned so much about what it means to be an entertainer from the remarkable artists in this arena tonight," she said, adding that she was proud to be able to present the award because all five nominees were so deserving (however, it's worth noting that Garth Brooks won).

But it wasn't the nominees that fans were excited about. It was the fact that Swift had finally returned to her country music roots — and many people took to Twitter to share their thoughts.

Survivor's Michaela Bradshaw spills behind-the-scenes dirt on her heated exit

Her elimination will go down in Survivor history as being connected with one of the angriest reactions as she intensely stared down Jay. But how is Michaela Bradshaw feeling about her blindside today? Is she still angry with Jay? We covered all that and so much more during our one-on-one interview with her. Plus, she revealed the one player she truly believes should win the game — and it's not who you'd ever expect.

SheKnows: Wow, your elimination was intense. You were genuinely shocked, as were many viewers. Tell us what was going through your mind as you gave Jay that fiery stare.

Michaela Bradshaw: I knew something was wrong the moment my name popped up. If this was going according to plan, Bret and Sunday should've voted for each other. My name should not be coming up right now. I saw two votes and thought Bret and Sunday were working together. There's only two people they could possibly be working with, but I knew Jay wouldn't cross me. Then three votes come up and I knew Will wouldn't do it by himself, so I knew Jay had something to do with it. I was so angry at him. I felt so betrayed. I felt devastated. I was mad. We've had these conversations of how we're going to change our families' lives, and how much the $1 million or even $100,000 would do something good for us. For him to know where I come from and rip that from me like that, it was hurtful. That's what that exchange was about. I knew he had something to do with it. Him staring me in the eyes was his way of owning the move. I respect that he owned it.

SK: What was it like watching that moment play back on TV?

MB: I knew it would come across epic. After the show, I watched more Survivor and I realized that most people when they get voted off are really quiet. They just get up and they're like, "Good luck, guys." Then they walk off and they cry [laughs], and that is not what happened with me. I was explosive. Watching what happened after the challenge and Tribal Council, it was actually entertaining. It was entertaining to me. I didn't realize my neck could turn with such ferocity, so that was cool.

SK: Did we see everything that happened or was there more exchanged between you and Jay after he backstabbed you? Did we miss anything?

MB: There was a lot more. I didn't use too many words, but I had some words to say to Jay repeatedly over and over. But, what you see is what was there. I felt really betrayed, and I felt like it was a dumb move. That was a shortsighted move. You don't get rid of your most trusted ally in the game, especially not somebody who can be a shield for you. I was like, "Oh, Jay, you messed this thing up."

More: Survivor's Figgy & Taylor didn't just break up — they're not even speaking

SK: What words did you have for Jay that we didn't see?

MB: Those were ones that you bleep on a family-friendly show [laughs].

SK: After you were officially voted out, how long did it take you to leave Tribal Council? Was it longer than we saw because it didn't seem like you were in any rush to walk away.

MB: Oh, heck yeah! It took a while. First, I was sitting there in disbelief and we had that moment that was hilarious on TV. We were definitely just staring at each other. I was so focused on that $1 million that I was willing to do whatever within my morals to get it. I had never once thought of how to properly leave Survivor. Finally, after I'm able to get off and take my eyes off this guy who just thrust a dagger into my heart, I went up to Jeff and I didn't have a torch. He was like, "Michaela, you need the torch." And I was so mad, like, "Don't talk to me right now, Jeff." I went and got the torch, slammed it in the hole and was like, "Wait. I gotta get my shoes." I was thinking this is probably the first time ever somebody left the torch. It was a production. It was a crazy moment, but one that I won't forget.

SK: How long did it take you to get over being blindsided?

MB: I was deep in that angry, betrayed emotion. I was in that emotion for at least 30 minutes. After that, they gave me a Milky Way and that helped dramatically [laughs]. Then I got to Ponderosa and got to meet all these happy faces like Rachel, CeCe and Mari. I just chose to embrace the positive of the situation. I was kind of done with it at that point. Are there still times where I look back and think if I would've just done something different? Yes, but those times are overshadowed by just me being grateful to have had the chance to play the game.

Michaela Bradshaw in confessional on Survivor: Millennials Vs. Gen-X
Image: CBS

SK: So you're not still angry with Jay?

MB: No! Not at all! We were actually texting while watching Tribal Council. It's just funny. I say, "Bravo." You got me, boy. You got me.

SK: So when Jay betrayed you, there was an opportunity right then for you to expose to everybody that he has a hidden Immunity Idol in his possession. Why didn't you reveal that secret as you left the game?

MB: That seems to be the bitter move. If I can't win, then neither can you. That's just not how I play in real life. Yes, I wanted to win, but if you get me in a game where somebody has to be got, because I respect you as a competitor, I'm going to let you run the rest of your game. My game is over once I get voted out. For me to come back and throw salt in somebody else's game, that's just bitter. That's not the type of person I am. If this thing doesn't work out for Jay the way he wanted it to, if he doesn't get to that $1 million at the end, I want him to look straight at himself and say, "I did this," opposed to, "Well, Michaela told everybody about my Idol." I'm just not a bitter competitor. I respect competition, so I couldn't do that.

SK: Give us one word to describe Jay.

MB: Real. He stuck a shank in my heart because he thought I was standing between him and that $1 million. He wants that $1 million for his family. I get it. I would call him "real."

SK: Do you think maybe you played the game too hard too fast?

MB: That's an interesting concept. I would say no. I like to win. I'm not used to losing. I don't want to lose, particularly when losing can send me home. I would've made the merge had we won one more. It wasn't about hard and fast, I was just trying to win. If I could continue to channel that winning energy into the merge, then maybe that would've resulted in some Immunities for me and maybe I could've gotten further.

Michaela Bradshaw lays on the beach during Survivor: Millennials Vs. Gen-X
Image: CBS

SK: You've said you were willing to do whatever possible to win the game, so what was your strategic plan?

MB: I did not care who I went to the very end with, but I had a plan. My plan was force people to stay with me because they have nowhere else to go. They didn't like that, which is why they got rid of me.

SK: The response you've received from fans has been mostly positive with a lot of love being thrown your direction. How does it feel to be so adored by fans?

MB: It really feels great. Coming out of the game, because my goal was $1 million and I did not achieve that, I actually thought of myself as a loser. It's crazy, right? However, each episode I watched all these good qualities that are genuine to me coming out on TV with other people seeing that. It's nice to be affirmed. There's so much negative in the world. It was nice to get this outpouring of love from all these different people. That's been a really positive aspect of this experience.

Michaela Bradshaw on Survivor: Millennials Vs. Gen-X

SK: How did you get picked to be on Survivor?

MB: I actually applied for Amazing Race. That led into me applying for Survivor. I got an email saying I wasn't going to be picked for Amazing Race, but asked if I considered Survivor. Yep, I just hadn't applied yet. I applied and started going through that process. It ended up working out to my favor. I just applied at the right time, and the right season was coming up. I fit.

Michaela Bradshaw with Adam Klein on Survivor: Millennials Vs. Gen-X

SK: At this point in the competition, who do you believe should win the $1 million? If you could vote for anybody right now, who would it be?

MB: Hannah. Why? Hannah is a very intelligent person, a very fun person and a very loving person. I saw Hannah being talked to crazy, being treated like crap, people thinking she's dumb and having to go through that feeling like she needs to prove her worth all the time. Watching the season, her goofy moments are accentuated so much that she seems like a non-factor. That is just not the experience that I had and not the view I have of her. If I could just vote a winner, I want to see Hannah blossom and I want her to win that game.

More: Wait. What? Survivor's Hannah Shapiro fears death while sitting out of challenge

Hannah Shapiro high fives Michaela Bradshaw after challenge on Survivor: Millennials Vs. Gen-X
Image: CBS

SK: On the flip-side of that, who doesn't deserve to win?

MB: I would say Sunday. Up until this point when she was going through all those Tribal Councils on Gen-X, she wasn't a decision-maker. She was a go-along person. On Ikabula, she wasn't someone that contributed to the wins, she was a go-along person. When it came down to voting, she didn't initiate any conversation about changing the vote. If it hadn't have been for Will or Jay going to her, she wouldn't have done anything. She would've just sat there and waited for the inevitable to happen. She's playing a game that's keeping her in it, which is no game, essentially. Survivor respects big moves, so if I had to cast a vote for a winner right now, it would not be for her.

Grey's Anatomy better be joking with this whole 'Webber might be leaving' thing

$

0

As if the prospect of Alex Karev leaving Grey Sloan wasn't horrible enough, this week's episode of Grey's Anatomy gave fans a new fear: that we'll lose Dr. Richard Webber, too.

It all started last week when Catherine Avery brought a startling trend to Miranda Bailey's attention — residents at Grey Sloan do not seem to thrive. The skirmish between Alex and DeLuca was the latest in a long line of drama between attendings and residents.

More: Grey's Anatomy deleted scene proves there's more love triangle drama to come

Her suggestion? They bring a third party in to assess the residency program. Yes, as in the one run by Catherine's own husband, Richard. To make matters worse, this was all done very cloak and dagger behind his back. Bailey, girl, I thought better of you.

So in comes newcomer Dr. Eliza Minnick (Marika Dominczyk) to seriously shake things up. Her first order of business is chatting with all of the residents to determine any issues they may have with the attendings. Naturally, this is a move that puts the attendings on edge.

She also horns in on several procedures being performed by the attendings and basically plays backseat driver — surgeon version — the entire time.

The kicker, though, is that despite the fact no one particularly likes her, Minnick makes sense. Even Maggie admits her methods work. Heck, even Webber comes around... well, thanks to a "little push" from his sweet geriatric patient and her adorable ride-or-die.

What's the problem then, right?

Minnick can come on board, and she and Webber will work alongside each other to reform the residency program. Only, nope! That's not gonna happen, because near the episode's close Minnick explains to Miranda she works alone. In other words, Webber has to go.

Now, hold on just one hot-damn minute. Are you listening, Shonda Rhimes? You better not take Richard from us. We sat idly by (read: sobbed uncontrollably and threatened to boycott) when you ripped McDreamy from our clammy superfan clutches.

And since last season's finale, the threat of Alex leaving has been looming over us like some horrible albatross. It was just last episode, in fact, that Alex seemed to confirm he would soon be leaving Meredith and everyone-slash-thing behind.

More: Did Grey's Anatomy's Alex Karev just confirm he's leaving the show?

Still, we soldiered through those tiny daggers to the heart because, well, we're apparently all masochists. Also, though, because we are invested. These characters have been in our lives longer than a lot of our relationships have panned out.

But the buck stops here. I draw the line at Richard. You can't have all of the OG Grey's guys — you just can't. I'm all for female empowerment, and I've very vocally been a fan of the direction the show has taken these last few seasons.

Richard being written off the show might be the proverbial last straw for this fan, though. Why? Because the show just wouldn't be the same with him. Yes, I realize that's probably something we all said when McDreamy died, and yet here we are.

However, it's different. In the beginning, the "Grey" in Grey's Anatomy pointed just as much to Ellis as it did to Meredith. Ellis and Richard were the bones the show was built around. Even though she died many seasons ago, she often makes cameos in the form of her journals or references of respect. Sometimes even flashbacks.

If Richard goes, all of that history goes with him. The show would feel decidedly less familiar and comforting. Because that's what he is, you know? Richard is one of those characters who — even when you don't agree with his decisions — feels like coming home.

More: Not gonna lie, Meredith should mention Derek in every Grey's Anatomy episode

Go ahead, shake things up. Just don't shake Richard right out the door, because you might also shake a few fans who've been losing their grip ever since you got rid of McDreamy.

What do you think? Would you be upset if Richard got written off?

Yeah, Supernatural's new villain Mr. Ketch is the absolute worst

We have yet to see his face, but that isn't even necessary to know that Supernatural's newest villain, Mr. Ketch, is truly terrible. He may have a great accent, but that's his only positive attribute. Here we thought Lady Toni Bevell was the one who could possibly be worse than Lucifer. Clearly not.

More: Supernatural was right for giving Mary the boot – even if it's only temporary

During Tuesday's episode, Sam and Dean investigated the case of a young woman name Magda, who her family thought was "the devil," but really she just had psychic abilities. In the end, the Winchester brothers saved the day and managed to get Magda away from her family and mainly her horrific mother.

Thankfully, Sammy was there to relate to Magda. Remember that time he possessed psychic abilities? For awhile now, he hasn't had them, but he still understood exactly what Magda was feeling. By the end of the episode, Sam told Magda to call him whenever she needed him and that she would eventually find her footing. He also reminded her that her powers don't control her, she controls them.

Here we thought Magda was going to get a happy ending. Yeah, that didn't happen. She was on her way to California to live with her aunt, that is until Mr. Ketch showed up. During the investigation of their latest supernatural-related case, a mysterious person on a motorcycle stopped and took note of Sam and Dean's car.

More: All signs point to Supernatural's Mary being a total badass in Season 12

Sam Winchester
Image: Tumblr

At first, it didn't seem like we would learn this person's identity, but that all changed when the motorcyclist showed up at the bus stop, followed Magda into the bathroom and shot and killed her. Let's all say it together, "Poor Magda." If you haven't figured it out yet, the motorcyclist was none other than Mr. Ketch.

After fatally shooting Magda (and with way too much ease for our liking), he made a phone call saying how he cleaned up another one of the Winchesters' messes, because they just couldn't get the job done. Whoa, Sam and Dean clearly got the job done. They saved a woman who didn't understand what was happening to her and gave her hope of a future. If anyone failed, it's Mr. Ketch.

He really is the absolute worst, isn't he? No wonder Toni works for him. They are basically the same person. Overall, the British Men of Letters need to go back to England and leave Sam and Dean alone. Unfortunately, that probably won't happen anytime soon and until Mr. Ketch, Toni and any other member from the London chapter stop the brothers once and for all.

Now would be a great time for Castiel, Crowley, Rowena and even Lucifer to join forces with Sam and Dean to stop these awful, awful people.

Supernatural airs Thursdays at 9/8c on The CW.

Tim Gunn was right to save Cornelius Ortiz on Project Runway

$

Cornelius Ortiz is arguably the least-liked guy on the current season of Project Runway, and for good reason: He's abrasive, he's overly confident and he has a tendency to trash talk his fellow contestants. It's hard to cheer for somebody who throws that much shade, which is perhaps why, when both Mah-Jing Wong and Ortiz were mistreated by their respective teams during tonight's episode, viewers really only spoke out in Wong's favor.

More: There's more to Project Runway's Cornelius Ortiz than his bad attitude

Believe it or not, we're here to defend Ortiz. He was on top of this week's team challenge, which involved creating a collection for a pop-up street display, all while abiding by a specific color scheme. Ortiz was grouped with Dexter Simmons and Erin Robertson, and once again, it was obvious that he was the odd one out. His vision did not match the vision of his fellow contestants, who were way too into the head-to-toe red look.

Erin Robertson
Image: Lifetime

Ortiz voiced his concerns, but his opinion was disregarded. Not only did his fellow teammates fail to give his viewpoint the consideration it deserved, they were willing to sit back and let him do the bulk of the work while they goofed off together.

More: Brik Allen did not deserve his early Project Runway elimination

Despite all of Ortiz's hard work, the red group performed poorly both among pedestrians viewing the pop-up booth and with the judges. The judges didn't think the red group's looks were terrible; they just didn't live up to the other groups. The teammates were then given the opportunity to share who they thought should go home, and of course, both Simmons and Robertson threw Ortiz under the bus. Not cool — Ortiz's instincts were on point and he was clearly not responsible for the team's loss.

Tim Gunn
Image: Lifetime

Thank God for Tim Gunn, who came through with the save. Gunn can see past Ortiz's abrasiveness to the natural fashion instinct that he has consistently demonstrated. He delivered the good news backstage and put a stop to what could have been this season's most dramatic stand-off.

More: Project Runway's swimsuits are not the way to inspire body confidence

It's crazy how quickly contestant perception can shift on this show. Robertson was the darling just a few weeks ago, and Ortiz was the villain. Now, we're cautiously rooting for Ortiz, if only because he was so clearly wronged by his teammates and by the judges.

Do you think Cornelius Ortiz should have been on the chopping block? Did Tim Gunn use his save wisely? Comment and share your opinion below.

Chopped: Beat Bobby Flay switches it up with brother versus brother battle

Mike and Matt Romine made it to Chopped: Beat Bobby Flay by working as a team to win out over a batch of fellow sibling chefs. The twins worked so well together, it would be a crime to split them up. Of course, that's exactly what happened tonight, as the show pitted brother against brother for the sake of stirring up some heated family drama.

More: A broken ice cream machine changed lives on Chopped — Beat Bobby Flay

Producers definitely wanted the two Romine brothers to make it to this episode's final round, but in the words of guest judge Aaron Sanchez, the whole thing was a "super big letdown," thanks in large part to Mike Romine's mediocre appetizer dish. Mike found himself on the chopping block after his kale-crusted lobster cake floundered, leaving his brother as the only member of the Romine family to advance to the next round.
Romine
Image: Food Network
Mike wasn't the only Romine brother to disappoint the judges. In fact, if it wasn't for his brother's failure, there's a good chance he would have been the one sent packing. He completely forgot to include one of the ingredients required for his dish, an error that arguably should have gotten him Chopped long before he reached the final round.
The zucchini error ultimately proved to be incredibly costly for the remaining Romine brother, who managed to make it to the final round before being beaten by Kathy Fang. The judges just couldn't look past the fact that Romine omitted such a crucial ingredient, and it ended up costing him a chance at the $40,000 grand prize (assuming, of course, he had beaten Bobby Flay himself — no guarantees there).
Chopped Bobby Flay contestants

Pitting the two brothers against each other was a promising move, but it just didn't pan out. What began as an intriguing twist on the same old competitive cooking show formula quickly turned into just that — a typical competitive cooing show. At least we can take comfort in knowing that the judges weren't tempted to let family drama win out over genuine talent. It's nice to see contestants judged for their talent, and not just for their potential to make the show more interesting.

Shark Tank's Barbara Corcoran should have been more Eco Flower friendly

Trust me, I love when my guy shows up on my door with a big bouquet of flowers just like the most women in this world. Though, let's be honest... They look pretty for a week — if that — then it's just a dried out mess.

Tonight on Shark Tank, Eco Flowers offered a more environmentally friendly way of spoiling a lady that Barbara Corcoran and Lori Greiner shouldn't have snubbed so quickly.

More: Shark Tank's Wally Amos didn't deserve a deal, but he does deserve success

Now, before I address, Corcoran and Greiner's response to Eco Flowers, a little disclaimer first: I recognize this company had some problems. I'm not saying Corcoran and Greiner shouldn't have gone out like they did. What I am saying is that the reason both ladies didn't warm to the business is because they both admitted they like real flowers better, and they didn't think the market, especially the wedding market, would accept the idea of fake flowers enough to make a booming business.

In response to that, I think the company's $2.8 million in sales would suggest otherwise, just saying.

Also, just because a bride might want some real flowers, doesn't also mean she wouldn't love to have some pieces that would last more than a week after her ceremony.

Not everyone is like Corcoran.

And by that I also mean, not everyone is a multi-millionaire either that can constantly afford to replace their dead blooms.

Not only that, but Eco Flowers would make a great Mother's Day, birthday or just because gift, and the price point is definitely comparable to real flower delivery services, if not even a bit more affordable.

Clearly, Eco Flowers found a fan in me. Their bouquets are absolutely stunning.

Married at First Sight's finale put us on edge over the couples' marriages

It's been several weeks since couples Tom and Lillian, and Nick and Sonia, decided to continue forward with their relationships rather than pursuing divorce on Married at First Sight. On the finale, both couples sit down with the relationship experts and reveal whether they've been able to maintain their relationship outside of the series.

Tom and Lillian are back to discuss what has happened since the finale. Lillian said that it was hard in the beginning and that marriage is not easy. Since the start of the show, they always seemed to have a physical connection, but she's discovering that she and Tom have different lifestyles. Still, they've remained married. The experts are obviously pleased that the two stayed together and felt that they were a great match together. What is really interesting here is that despite their differences, the two were able to work through their differences. For example, Tom seemed to enjoy living on the bus and Lillian did not. That’s OK. They figured it out. Lesson learned: Be able to negotiate differences.

More: Nick and Sonia have some sweet but challenging moments on Married at First Sight

And, of course, there's the real roller coaster relationship of the show, Nick and Sonia. Sonia tells the experts of ups and downs they've experienced since the finale and that she continues to feel that Nick lacks emotion.Sonia says that she believes in marriage but she is not sure Nick has the same values toward the institution. When Nick sits down with the experts he says their relationship is “hit or miss some days.”The experts notice Nick does not have his wedding ring on and ask if the couple is still together. Nick says “yes.”

More: Nick and Sonia try to save their relationship on Married at First Sight

Sonia joins Nick and the couple seem happy and are holding hands. It seems as if they were able to move past some of the issues that showed up earlier in the season.Sonia appears to be a really optimistic and positive person.I give her a lot of credit for continuing the journey even when she was hurt and upset. They appear to be working on communication and creating a positive relationship going forward.

Lesson learned: Communication is so important in a relationship. Don’t discount the power of words to be hurtful or helpful.

Benedict Cumberbatch played a stripper on his SNL debut, and it was glorious

It happened: Benedict Cumberbatch hosted Saturday Night Live. He sang, he danced, he debated his own hotness and he stripped.

More: The women of SNL are killing it this season, and these sketches prove it

Cumberbatch didn't hide from his sex symbol status when he hosted SNL, starring in a sketch called "Why Is Benedict Cumberbatch Hot?" and then taking it one step further by playing a handyman stripper. In the sketch of the night, Cumberbatch appeared as a mullet-rocking stripper working a grandmother's bachelorette party. The grandmother, played by the wonderful Aidy Bryant, died when she was surprised by her party, but her grandchildren were so busy laughing about the strippers they didn't even notice!

The entire sketch was basically the two strippers — Cumberbatch and SNL newbie Mikey Day — humping an "unconscious" Bryant. In other words: Bryant lived out the dreams of many a Cumberbitches. And if you thought Cumberbatch as a stripper was great, just you wait. To finish the skit, SNL brought out three Chicago Cubs stars, Anthony Rizzo, David Ross and Dexter Fowler, who celebrated their World Series win by dancing in short shorts as strippers on live television.

Of course, this week's episode didn't just mark Cumberbatch's SNL debut, it was also the final episode before the Presidential election. The sketch ended with McKinnon and Baldwin rushing back onstage and reminding viewers everywhere to get out and vote. "On Tuesday, we all get a chance to choose what kind of country we want to live in," McKinnon said. No one could have said it better.

Michelle Obama has undoubtedly been one of the most memorable first ladies, and so it should come as no surprise that we're really going to miss her. But for now, and in an attempt to celebrate her greatness, we're taking a look back at her most powerful, inspiring speeches over the last eight years.

1. Democratic National Convention, 2008

Right back to where it all started — at the Democratic National Convention in 2008, Michelle Obama gave us a chance to get to know her and her husband (and subsequently fall in love with them).

The best part: "[Barack Obama will] achieve these goals the same way he always has — by bringing us together and reminding us how much we share and how alike we really are. You see, Barack doesn't care where you're from or what your background is or what party — if any — you belong to. That's not how he sees the world. He knows that thread that connects us — our belief in America's promise, our commitment to our children's future — is strong enough to hold us together as one nation, even when we disagree."

2. Woman's Day, 2011

Michelle Obama Woman's Day

Michelle Obama celebrated the achievements of women, and not just those who were part of the International Women of Courage Awards, but in all of America, with the most touching tribute.

The best part: "Women are now the majority of graduates of colleges and universities. We make up nearly half of America's workforce. We got to get paid more for it. But we do. Women are thriving in every sector of our society. We are leading businesses. We’re serving at the highest levels of government and the armed forces. We're breaking barriers and succeeding in careers that our mothers and grandmothers never could have imagined."

3. Martin Luther King Jr. Preparatory High School graduation, 2015

Michelle Obama spoke to students at the Martin Luther King Jr. Preparatory High School's graduation ceremony in Chicago in 2015, telling the students to not let their hardships and failures discourage them from pursuing their education.

The best part: "Instead of letting your hardships and failures discourage or exhaust you, let them inspire you. Let them make you even hungrier to succeed."

4. Democratic National Convention, 2016

Earlier this year, Michelle Obama spoke at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, and her speech was, in our minds, the most captivating speech of the entire convention. In it, Michelle spoke about her own personal experience in the White House and what it's been like for her and Barack Obama to raise their two daughters in it as their home.

The best part: "With every word we utter, with every action we take, we know our kids are watching us. We as parents are their most important role models. And let me tell you, Barack and I take that same approach to our jobs as president and first lady because we know that our words and actions matter, not just to our girls, but the children across this country, kids who tell us I saw you on TV, I wrote a report on you for school.

"Kids like the little black boy who looked up at my husband, his eyes wide with hope and he wondered, 'Is my hair like yours?'

"And make no mistake about it, this November when we go to the polls that is what we're deciding — not Democrat or Republican, not left or right. No, in this election, and every election, is about who will have the power to shape our children for the next four or eight years of their lives."

5. Tuskegee University commencement, 2015

Michelle Obama gave a 30-minute commencement address at Tuskegee University in which she addressed racial tensions and the struggles of black Americans.

The best part: "As potentially the first African-American first lady, I was also the focus of another set of questions and speculations — conversations sometimes rooted in the fears and misperceptions of others. Was I too loud or too angry or too emasculating? Or was I too soft, too much of a mom, not enough of a career woman?" she said. "Then there was the first time I was on a magazine cover — it was a cartoon drawing of me with a huge Afro and machine gun. Now, yeah, it was satire, but if I'm really being honest, it knocked me back a bit. It made me wonder, 'Just how are people seeing me?'"

6. Fortune's Most Powerful Women Summit, 2015

Michelle Obama Fortune's Most Powerful Women Summit

During Fortune's Most Powerful Women Summit, Obama addressed the global female education crisis and the Let Girls Learn campaign. Addressing the women in the crowd, she remarked on how education had allowed them to transform their lives.

The best part: "You all are the living, breathing proof that when women get a good education and have their voices heard in the halls of power, they don’t just transform their own lives, they transform the life of this nation and our entire world. But unfortunately, as you all know, even today, many women never have these opportunities here in the U.S., and particularly in many developing countries across the globe. In fact, right now, more than 62 million girls worldwide are not in school. They are not getting any formal education at all — no reading, no writing, no math. Nothing."

7. Mulberry School for Girls in London, 2015

Michelle Obama campaigns hard for education, and during a trip to Mulberry School for Girls in London's East End in June of 2015, she gave the 11- to 18-year-olds valuable advice — including the fact that they should strive to be more than just book-smart.

The best part: "Don't just be book-smart, be smart about the world — know your community, know your politics. You have to be informed and engaged all the time — not just when you think it is interesting or cool. As young women, we have to be interested in politics. You have to think about your whole education."

8. Topeka School District Senior Recognition Day assembly, 2014

Topeka School District speech

Topeka School District speech

Michelle Obama gave a speech to new high school graduates as part of the Topeka School District Senior Recognition Day, and she left them with some very thought-provoking words.

The best part: "No matter what you do, the point is to never be afraid to talk about these issues, particularly the issue of race, because even today, we still struggle to do that. This issue is so sensitive, so complicated, so bound up with a painful history.

"And we need your generation to help us break through — we need all of you to ask the hard questions and have the honest conversations because that is the only way we will heal the wounds of the past and move forward to a better future."

Cumberbitches came out in droves this weekend to cheer on their beloved Benedict Cumberbatch as he hosted Season 42 Episode 5 of Saturday Night Live and, well, he didn't disappoint. It's hard to pick a favorite sketch for the evening, but "Surprise Bachelorette" was pure magic with Cumberbatch showing up in all his stripperific man-bun glory.

Another highlight of the show was Dana Carvey showing up as the Church Lady during "Weekend Update." It really was special.

But as amazing as Cumberbatch's turn as Saturday Night Live host was, he certainly wasn't the belle of the ball on the Nov. 5 episode. No, that title belongs to Solange, whose SNL debut proved that you're never too old to be embarrassed by your big sister — even if you big sister happens to be Beyoncé.

Queen Bey and her mother, Tina Knowles, showed up to show support for Solange on her big day. They even hoisted her up in the air in celebration, though Solange protested the entire way through.

"Guys! I'm 30 years old!" Solange sheepishly exclaimed as Beyoncé and Tina lifted her up for a photo op.

But as embarrassed as Solange was — or, at least, pretended to be — the attention from her family was well deserved. Her ethereal performance of "Cranes in the Sky" showcased her vocal talent and demonstrated the eclectic range of the Knowles sisters.

Her performance of "Don't Touch My Hair" was equally as intriguing, and was even a tad reminiscent of FKA Twigs' otherworldly style.

Solange's performances weren't without flaws — performing live on SNL is no small feat — but they were raw and real, and fans were blown away.
